I have the best job in the world. I get to meet all kinds of different people, chat with them about what they love and inspire them to create. Every day I leave work feeling happier than when I walked in.
So on Friday afternoon a husband and wife came in and started chatting to me about their son, who had his picture in the West Australian that day. His name is Cam Harris and his is currently dealing with Cancer. These two people talked about their son with so much love and PRIDE it brought tears to my eyes. They told me about his website, called simply The Walk Beside, which is his blog about his journey through life with Cancer.
I have had a read of it tonight and it is nothing short of inspirational. If you have a minute, please click on the link and have a read.
And in other news:
- The Christmas tree came down about a week after my last post, but I do need to admit that there is tinsel and Christmas baubles hanging from the pergola outside. Thinking I might be a non-conformist and just leave them there till next Christmas?
- Alyssa started Kindergarten and loves it. Which means I am dealing with some emotions I didn't realise I would. Oh, how those two little girls are growing up. I admit I don't miss the night feeds, the endless crying, the constant reflux. But I miss how little they were.
- I am constantly flat out. There is always stuff to do for the shop and I never seem to stop. I'm trying so hard to balance it with family life, spending time with the girls and Jason, but it isn't easy. I think I'm doing ok. I hope I'm doing ok!
- I do have some not quite finished artwork to share soon ... the last page I did I took to the shop to display before even photographing it :(
Ok, it's 12.47am so I better go to bed - and I was going to have an early night tonight!! Go figure.
xx Natalie
