You yesterday I was feeling like i just really needed some creative time. It just becomes too easy in life to work all the time and never play - so this morning I got up I decided today would be just that - a day for play.
Couldn't use my usual Art room because Jason had his work stuff all over MY art table (what is it with that??) so I had to move into the loungeroom with all my stuff ... put my fave music on and was immediately in the zone. Thought i would do an art journal page, but what began as a humble page quickly turned into a 5.5" x 7.5" canvas.
I've used Mica (love that stuff) and "Mica Delights" ... which is like glitter but with flecks of Mica in it, it is really quite stunning.
And here is the results of today's creative efforts ...
From start to finish in just one day - that's an accomplishment for me!!
Now i am off to fix my other creation for the day ... this big mess!!
and just a side note ... my Uncle Joe passed away on Sunday. It is all i have been able to think about this week, and I so wish i was able to go to the funeral in Sydney today, but it just wasn't possible. This was a very special man, and he will be dearly missed by all of us. I have so many good memories of him - particularly the time we spent with him in 1988 when we spent a few weeks in Italy, him driving us through the country in his red Alfa Romeo while we all sang along to Gianni Morandi (remember that Luisa). We stayed with him in his apartment in Giovinazzo - where he would take us swimming in the ocean every morning just accross the road - and catch squid and little occhi with his hands (yep, and eat them raw). He took us to Rome, Florence, Sienna ... this 60 odd year old man with his sporty red Alfa and as fit as a fiddle.
I can't write any more because i can't see for the tears - so Zio ... love you, miss you xxx
He sounds like a wonderful man Natalie and you will ALWAYS have those precious memories.
My condolences xxx
Luv Jen
(PS - the canvas is Devine xxx)
